How to calculate acreage
Calculating land acreage is done by finding the total area of the property in square feet and dividing by the number of square feet in a single acre (exactly 43,560 square feet).
Formula
For rectangular plots of land:
Total Square Feet (sq ft) = Length (ft) × Width (ft)
Acres = Total Square Feet ÷ 43,560
Square Yards = Total Square Feet ÷ 9
Hectares = Total Square Feet × 0.0000092903 (since 1 hectare is 107,639 square feet)
